Is Showerwall waterproof?

Yes. Showerwall panels have a moisture resistant core and are bonded to a high pressure laminate. When installed using Showerwall fitting instructions and accessories, this will give you a waterproof wall panelling system.

Can I fit Showerwall panels myself?

Yes. Showerwall can be fitted by a competent DIY person with no need for a professional. The added benefit is the ability to fit the product using general DIY tools.

What does the 15 year guarantee cover?

The Showerwall guarantee is applicable to a fully finished, correctly installed and sealed, Showerwall system.  Showerwall panels have a high pressure laminate surface which itself is guaranteed to remain waterproof. The panels are also guaranteed not to crack or delaminate during this 15 year period. The core material of the panel is moisture resistant and provided all panel edges and joints are sealed correctly, as per the instructions that are supplied with panels, this is also guaranteed to be Waterproof.

Do you offer an installation kit for Showerwall?

Yes. We have an installation kit available in various finishes and the option of clear or white sealant. The kit has everything you require to install a two sided shower cubicle.

Can I store this product vertically?

No. This product should not be stored vertically or propped up against a wall. Incorrect storage may cause the panel to bow and must be laid flat whilst stored.

Do I need adhesive and sealant and which type do I use?

Yes adhesive and sealant is required to install this product. Showerwall sealants and adhesives have been developed especially for use in fitting a Showerwall system. The use of alternative products may invalidate your guarantee.

How much adhesive and sealant is required for one panel?

For one panel, approximately 1 cartridge of Showerwall adhesive and 1 cartridge of Showerwall sealant is required.

Can I use Showerwall for floors or ceilings?

No. This product is too heavy to apply to ceilings and if applied to the floor would not be slip resistant.

Can I apply Showerwall directly to tiles?

Yes. We only recommend that you fit square edge panels to tiles and only when tiles are degreased. When using 600 Tongue and groove please apply to batten system and not directly onto a wall surface.

Can I apply Showerwall to Plasterboard?

Yes. We only recommend that you fit square edge panels to plasterboard. When using 600 Tongue and groove please apply to batten system and not directly onto a wall surface.

When using battens how far apart do they have to be?

Treated timber battens approximately 50mm x 25mm should be fixed horizontally with one at the head and base of the panels with additional horizontal battens at a recommended distance of 500mm apart.

Can I use Showerwall panel as a bath panel so it will match the rest of the room?

Yes, providing that the décor pattern will adapt. The bath needs to be installed first and panelled first. Showerwall panel needs to be installed in accordance to the fitting instructions.

Can I hang wall mounted items to Showerwall panels?

Yes. You should always use additional battens behind hand basins, towel rails and other heavy items i.e. furniture, ensuring adequate sealant is applied to all fixings.

Can I sit the Showerwall panel directly onto a shower tray or bath edge?

No. We recommend you use Showewall Showerseal. This is a two part system for shower trays and baths comprising of a PVC strip and high performance Showerwall white silicone. If you choose not to use Showerseal a 3mm expansion gap should always be left between the panel and tray/bath and then sealed.

Will watermarks show on Showerwall Panels?

Showerwall is available in many decors and textures. If you choose decors with a gloss finish, watermarks will be show no more than is expected on a tile surface. We recommend you use Showerwall cleaner.

How do I clean Showerwall?

The hardwearing surface of Showerwall can be hygienically cleaned with Showerwall spray cleaner, which is a mild non abrasive cleaner with an anti-bacterial agent.

Do I need to maintain sealant after fitting?

Yes. Invariably sealants can break down over time. It is essential to ensure sealant is maintained to avoid water ingress to the panel.

Can I order Showerwall in larger size than 2440mm x 1200mm?

No. this is due to the size of raw materials used.

What is the weight of a Showerwall panel?

600 T&G = 15kg approx
900 / 1000 = 25kg approx
1200 = 30kg approx

Is the MDF core from a sustainable source and FSC certified?

Yes. The MDF is FSC and guarantee’s that the wood is harvested from responsibly managed forests.

Should I remove the green film located on the reverse of the Showerseal?

No, The green film is designed to allow the Silicon sealant to separate from the Showerseal creating a flexible seal if the showertray settles aways from the base of the panel.
